The Marriage Pillar

The Marriage Pillar

The second pillar of life of the 10 pillars that I coach my clients on is the marriage pillar.

mar·riage: the formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.

Romantical Love

Understanding your role as a husband and as a wife then defining them for your marriage is so key to long term success.

You see when you focus on your marriage after creating a foundation and roots in your spiritual life it forms the trunk from where all dreams and goals successfully branch out.

There is no coincidence that we become paired with someone in life. We are meant to share it, experience it, develop it, and enjoy it with our other half.

Take inventory

So if you are married, where are you at in your marriage?

If you are not married, where do you what to be one day with your future spouse?

Consider this

There are a handful of values that lead to a successfully operating marriage. It is much like a business actually. Figure out and decide upon these areas together

  • what is the best way to communicate and listen
  • what do the both of you stand for
  • how do you resolve conflict
  • how do you measure your relationship to each other
  • what do you do to love each other and to keep the love growing
  • what are your roles with the kids, finances, running the home, etc

Take action

Take 15 minutes to journal what you discovered, what you know you want, and then write out how you see yourself getting there in your marriage. Every goal is achieved with good intentions and a good plan. So plan it out and work the plan.

Tomorrow we go over pillar #3
